“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” – Awesome Hymn at Gaither Homecoming Concert

Be blessed by this powerful rendition of the hymn, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.” This song was written by Isaac Watts, and published in Hymns and Spiritual Songs in 1707. It is significant for being an innovative departure from the early English hymn style of only using paraphrased biblical texts, although the first couplet of the second verse paraphrases Galatians 6:14a and the second couplet of the fourth verse paraphrases Gal.6:14b. Glory to God!

The Gaither Vocal Band was founded in the early ’80s by renowned Christian music leader Bill Gaither. GVB became one of America’s leading southern gospel vocal groups. While Bill Gaither remained the only original member of the ensemble, many well-regarded CCM/gospel singers have passed through the band’s ranks, including Russ Taff, Guy Penrod, Wes Hampton, Michael English, Mark Lowry, and David Phelps. Today, the Gaither Vocal Band roster is comprised of five power-packed voices, including Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith.

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of Glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride

See from His head, His hands, His feet
So much sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich, so rich a crown

Were this whole realm of nature mine
That were a present far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my soul, my life, my all
My life, my soul, my all

He Must Had Had a Mountain On His Mind

Ivan Parker
He said let’s go up the mountain. I’ve got a few things I would like to say
So they followed close behind Him and stayed there ’til the sunset of the day
His words were strong and gentle like the aspens as they whisper in the wind
and His promises were welcome as the whippoorwill who finds her nest again

Oh and He taught there on the mountain and the boulders heard His words
They would have shouted praise Him if the crowd had not been first

He said blessed are the peaceful. They are the sons of God
Blessed are the righteous for with Him there is a bond
Blessed are the poor and meek. Blessed are the ones who seek to find
And as He walked into the valley He must have had a mountain on His mind

He gave them all instructions, lessons that would help them on the ride
He talked of all His passions and hoped that they’d remember when he died
He said learn to love your brother. He even said to love your enemy
He said walk the second mile, pray forgive us Lord and set us free

Then He left them on the hillside and He went to Calvary
He thought about a mountain where He’d fed His precious sheep

He said blessed are the peaceful. They are the sons of God
Blessed are the righteous for with Him there is a bond
Blessed are the poor and meek. Blessed are the ones who seek to find
And as He stepped into Heaven He must have had a mountain on His mind

Help Me Lyrics

Artist: Russ Taff

Lord, help me walk another mile, just one more mile
I’m tired of walking by myself
Lord, help me smile another smile, just one more smile
I know I can’t make it on my own

I never thought I needed help before
I thought that I could get by, by myself
But now I know I just can’t take it any more
So with a humble heart, on bended knees
I’m begging You, please, help me

Come down from Your golden throne to me,
come down to me
i need to feel the touch of Your tender hand
Remove the chains of darkness, let me see,
Lord let me see
Just where I fit into Your master plan

I never thought I needed help before
I thought that I could get by, by myself
But now I know I just can’t take it anymore
With a humble heart, on bended knee
I’m begging You, please, help me
With a humble heart, on bended knees
I’m begging You please, help me

When I Cry Lyrics

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

Makin’ a list of all of the
Good things You’ve done for me
Lord, I’ve never been one to complain
But right now I’m lost and
I can’t find my way
My world’s come apart and
It’s breakin’ my heart
But it helps to know Your
Heart is breakin’ too when I cry, You cry
When I hurt, You hurt when I’ve lost someone
It takes a piece of You, too
And when I fall on my face
You fill me with grace
‘Cause nothin’ breaks Your heart
Or tears You apart like when I cry
Alone in the dark, face in my hands
Crying out to You
Lord, there’s never been a time in my life
There’s so much at stake
There’s so much to lose
But I trust it to You
You’ll bring me through
And it helps me to know that I’m not alone
When I cry, You cry when I hurt, You hurt
When I’ve lost someone
It takes a piece of You, too
And when I fall on my face
You fill me with grace
‘Cause nothin’ breaks Your heart
Or tears You apart like when I cry
You’re the one who calmed the raging sea
You’re the one who made the blind to see
You looked through all of heaven and eternity
And through it all you saw me
When I cry, You cry when I hurt, You hurt
And when I’ve lost someone it
Takes a piece of You, too
When I fall on my face
You fill me with grace
Nothing breaks your heart, or tears you apart
Like when I cry

Love Can Turn the World Lyrics

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

We’re as different as night and day
We’re the same in different ways
And it’s true, just look at me and you

We can change the way we are
The power lives inside our hearts
We can be anything we wanna be

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

The God who made you made us all
Big and little, short and tall
And that’s fine ’cause it takes all kinds

If He had made us all alike
It sure would be boring life
But He knew what little time could do

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world

Everybody sing it

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn
Coal into diamonds
And sand into pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

“Touch Of The Master’s Hand” – Lovely Song of The Booth Brothers

Be blessed with this music video by The Booth Brothers performing “Touch Of The Master’s Hand.” They recorded this song sometime in 2017. The Booth Brothers have a very beautiful harmony and really makes the song so special. The message of this song is surely something that will make us ponder our worth and meaning life.

About The Booth Brothers

The Booth Brothers was initially formed in the 1950s by Ron Booth Sr. with his brothers Charles, James, and Wallace, after they moved to Detroit. June 28, 1965), and his father. They started performing and touring around Florida and recorded several albums. In 1998, Ron decided to retire and the remaining brothers started looking for a replacement. They recorded several albums with Joseph Smith, who was later replaced by Jim Brady. Brady remained with them until 2014, at which point he was replaced by Paul Lancaster.

The Touch Of The Master’s Hand

Song by The Booth Brothers

Well it was battered and scared,
And the auctioneer felt it was hardly worth his while,
To waste much time on the old violin but he held it up with a smile,
Well it sure ain’t much but its all we got left I guess we aught to sell it to,
Oh, now who’ll start the bid on this old violin?
Just one more and we’ll be through.

And then he cried one give me one dollar,
Who’ll make it two only two dollars who’ll make it three,
Three dollars twice now that’s a good price,
Now who’s gonna bid for me?
Raise up your hand now don’t wait any longer the auctions about to end,
Who’s got four Just one dollar more to bid on this old violin?

Well the air was hot and the people stood around as the sun was setting low,
From the back of the crowd a gray haired man,
Came forward and picked up the bow,
He wiped the dust from the old violin then he tightened up the strings,
Then he played out a melody pure and sweet, sweeter than the Angels sing,
And then the music stopped and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low he said now what am I bid,
For this old violin and he held it up with a bow.

And then he cried out one give me one thousand,
Who’ll make it two only two thousand who’ll make it three,
Three thousand twice you know that’s a good price,
Common who’s gonna to bid for me?
And the people cried out what made the change we don’t understand,
Then the auctioneer stopped and he said with a smile,
It was the touch of the Master’s hand.

You know threes many a man with his life out of tune,
Battered and scared with sin and he’s auctioned cheap,
To a thankless world much like that old violin,
Oh, but then the Master comes,
And that old foolish crowd they never understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is rought,
Just by one touch of the Masters hand.

And then he cried out one give me one thousand,
Who’ll make it two only two thousand who’ll make it three,
Three thousand twice you know that’s a good price,
Common who’s gonna bid for me?
And the people cried out what made the change we don’t understand,
Then the auctioneer stopped and he said with a smile,
It was the touch, that’s all it was; it was the touch of the Master’s hand,
It was the touch of the Master’s hand; oh, it was the touch of the Master’s hand

On The Way Home Lyrics

The Booth Brothers

I’m only passin’ through on my way Home
Heaven is the place where I belong
More than just a feeling or a dream
A land beyond the stars is calling me
When the Savior comes for me, I’ll go
To live forever, finally at Home

I’ve searched the world far and wide tryin’ to fit in
To find the place where I was meant to be
But I never felt the peace inside I was lookin’ for
Until I walked the road to Calvary
Kneeling there I realized there was so much more
Than this old world could ever hold for me

I’m only passin’ through on my way Home
Heaven is the place where I belong
More than just a feeling or a dream
A land beyond the stars is calling me
When the Savior comes for me, I’ll go
To live forever, finally at Home

My mind cannot imagine what these eyes will behold
When I reach that land of brilliant light
Captured in the moment that I’ve waited for so long
I will gaze in wonder and delight
For now I’ll keep on travelin’ this road that leads me Home
Soon I’ll take my Heavenly flight

I’m only passin’ through on my way Home
Heaven is the place where I belong
More than just a feeling or a dream
A land beyond the stars is calling me
When the Savior comes for me, I’ll go
To live forever, finally at Home

Days that last forever, night will never come
Over the horizon there’s no setting sun

I’m only passin’ through on my way Home
Heaven is the place where I belong
More than just
a feeling or a dream
A land beyond the stars is calling me
When the Savior comes for me, I’ll go
To live forever, finally at Home

I’m only passin’ through on my way Home

Lord, I’m Coming Home Lyrics

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

I’ve wandered far away from God
Now I’m coming home
The paths of sin too long I’ve trod
Lord, I’m coming home

Coming home, coming home
Nevermore to roam
Open wide Thine arms of love
Lord, I’m coming home

I’ve wasted many precious years
Now I’m coming home
I now repent with bitter tears
Lord, I’m coming home

I’m tired of sin and straying, Lord
Now I’m coming home
I’ll trust Thy love, believe Thy word
Lord, I’m coming home

My soul is sick, my heart is sore
Now I’m coming home
My strength renew, my home restore
Lord, I’m coming home

My only hope, my only plea
Now I’m coming home
That Jesus died, and died for me
Lord, I’m coming home

I need His cleansing blood I know
Now I’m coming home
Oh, wash me whiter than the snow
Lord, I’m coming home

Until Then Lyrics

words and lyrics by Stuart Hamblen

My heart can sing when I pause to remember,
A heartache here is but a stepping stone.
Along a trail, thats winding always upward,
this troubled world, is not my final home.

Refrain
But until then, my heart will go on singing,
Until then, with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.

The things of earth will dim and loose there value,
If we recall they’re borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remember there, will only bring a smile.

Sheltered In The Arms Of God Lyrics

Song by Lynda Randle

For I’m sheltered in the arms of God

I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender
They’re leading me in paths that I must trod
I’ll have no fear ’cause Jesus walks beside me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God

So let the storms rage high
The dark clouds rise
They won’t worry me
For I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God
He walks with me
And naught of earth shall harm me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God

Soon I shall hear the call from Heaven’s portals
“Come home, My child, it’s the last mile you have trod.”
I’ll just fall asleep and wake up in God’s new heaven
Forever sheltered in the arms of God

So let the storms rage high
The dark clouds rise
They won’t worry me
For I’m sheltered safe within the arms of God

He walks with me
And naught of earth shall harm me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God
So let the cold winds blow
It’s so good to know
That I’m sheltered in the arms of God
Darling we have both been sheltered in the arms of God
The arms of God
