A beautiful rendition of the popular gospel song “Because He lives” led by Bill Gaither and Buddy Greene. The lyrics of this song were written by two of the longest-lasting performing couples of Christian contemporary music, Gloria Gaither (b. 1942) and William “Bill” J. Gaither (b. 1936) Gaither. “Because He Lives” was awarded the recognition of Gospel Song of the Year for 1974 by the Gospel Music Association and the American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP).

The Gaither Vocal Band was founded in the early ’80s by renowned Christian music leader Bill Gaither. GVB became one of America’s leading southern gospel vocal groups. Classic Hymn: “Jesus Paid It All” Gaither Featuring Ivan Parker

Ivan Parker delivered a wonderful performance of the the classic hymn “Jesus Paid It All.” This song is a traditional American hymn about the penal substitutionary atonement for sin by the death of Jesus. The song references many Bible verses, including Romans 5 (“Jesus’ sacrifice gives life”) and Isaiah 1:18 (“a crimson flow”). The song lyrics were written in 1865 by Elvina M. Hall, a 47-year-old widowed congregant. Be blessed!

About Ivan Parker

A North Carolina-born preacher’s kid, Ivan Parker is among the best-loved artists in gospel music. He traveled with the award-winning Gold City quartet, for more than a decade, before embarking on a solo career in 1994. During his years with Gold City, the group gained national notoriety, achieved 19 Top Ten hits, including a 1993 Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year by the Gospel Music Association.

Today, Ivan is an award-winning solo performer who was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and has received more than 20 awards from a variety of leading fan and trade publications. His contagious warmth, coupled with his genuine love for gospel music, gives Ivan a unique connection with the songs he communicates to countless thousands every year. He is a favorite on the Homecoming stage and as a solo artist. In 2008, the Gaither Gospel Series released The Best Of Ivan Parker on DVD and CD, which peaked on Billboard Magazine’s Music Video Chart at #2. Most recently, Ivan was nominated for a 2009 Visionary Award by the Christian Music Hall of Fame for Southern Gospel Male Vocalist of the Year. Ivan and his wife, Teresa, reside in Nashville, Tennessee. They are the parents of two grown sons, Ryan and Josh. About Michael English

Michael English (born on April 12, 1962 in Kenansville, North Carolina) is a Christian singer who has been recording music since 1972. A native of Wallace, North Carolina, English performed in his family’s singing group, The Singing Samaritans, from 1972 until 1980. He left the group in 1982 and joined The Goodmans. His first big success in southern gospel music with the live recording of what would become his signature song, “I Bowed On My Knees (And Cried Holy).” He joined and became a lead singer for the Gaither Vocal Band in the late ’80s, Michael English helped popularize modern Southern gospel. He’d later leave the group to become one of the biggest stars in Southern gospel and CCM music in the early ’90s. He racked up four Dove Awards — including Artist of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year.
