“Sweet Beulah Land”- Lovely Song By Squire Parsons, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound

This lovely Southern gospel song “Sweet Beulah Land” was written and composed by Squire Parsons in 1973. Parsons recorded it in 1979. It became the number one Southern Gospel single in 1981. It has been recorded by several other artists, including Carroll Roberson, The Chuck Wagon Gang, and the Gaither Homecoming Choir. The word Beulah is a metaphor for Jerusalem and heaven (for the latter, see Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress” to refer to Heaven.) Be blessed!

Sweet Beulah Land Lyrics

Song by Squire Parsons

I’m kind of homesick for a country
To which I’ve never been before.
No sad goodbyes will there be spoken
For time won’t matter anymore.

Beulah Land (Beulah Land) I’m longing for you (I’m longing for you)
And some day (And some day) on thee I’ll stand (Someday we will stand)
There my home (There my home) shall be eternal (Eternal)
Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land

I’m looking now, just across the river
To where my faith, shall end in sight (Shall end in sight)
There’s just a few more days to labor.
Then I will take my heavenly flight.

Beulah Land (Beulah Land) I’m longing for you (I’m longing for you)
And some day (And some day) on thee I’ll stand (Someday we will stand)
There my home (There my home) shall be eternal
Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land
Beulah Land, oh it’s Beulah Land
Oh Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land

Beautiful song sung by Squire Parsons. Has to be an honor to sing with Ernie and Signature Sound backing him., and an honor for them to sing with Squire. I believe Ernie first sang with Squire when he first started singing southern gospel and before the Cathedrals. Love this song- just beautiful
