Life’s Railway To Heaven Lyrics

Life is like a mountain railway,
With an engineer that’s brave;
We must make the run successful,
From the cradle to the grave;
Watch the curves, the fills, the tunnels;
Never falter, never fail;
Keep your hands upon the throttle,
And your eyes upon the rail.

Blessed Savior, Thou wilt guide us,
Till we reach that blissful shore,
Where the angels wait to join us
In Thy praise forevermore.
You will roll up grades of trial;
You will cross the bridge of strife;
See that Christ is your conductor
On this lightning train of life;
Always mindful of obstruction,
Do your duty, never fail;
Keep your hands upon the throttle,
You will often find obstructions,
Look for storms and wind and rain;
On a fill, or curve, or trestle
They will almost ditch your train;
Put your trust alone in Jesus,
Never falter, never fail;
Keep your hands upon the throttle,
And your eyes upon the rail.
As you roll across the trestle,
Spanning Jordan’s swelling tide,
You behold the Union Depot
Into which your train will glide;
There you’ll meet the Sup’rintendent,
God the Father, God the Son,
With the hearty, joyous plaudit,
Weary Pilgrim, welcome home.

Jimmy Fortune Sings Classic Hymn “In The Garden” Live In Columbia, Tennessee, 2019

This is probably one of the best versions of this classic hymn “In the Garden.” What a powerful voice of Jimmy Fortune! Very captivating and what a blessing to hear him sing this. “In the Garden” (sometimes rendered by its first line “I Come to the Garden Alone” is a gospel song written by American songwriter C. Austin Miles (1868–1946), a former pharmacist who served as editor and manager at Hall-Mack publishers for 37 years. The song was first published in 1912 and popularized during the Billy Sunday evangelistic campaigns of the early twentieth century.

In the Garden

Charles A. Miles, 1913

  1. I come to the garden alone,
    While the dew is still on the roses,
    And the voice I hear falling on my ear
    The Son of God discloses.
    • Refrain:
      And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
      And He tells me I am His own;
      And the joy we share as we tarry there,
      None other has ever known.
  2. He speaks, and the sound of His voice
    Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
    And the melody that He gave to me
    Within my heart is ringing.
  3. I’d stay in the garden with Him,
    Though the night around me be falling,
    But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
    His voice to me is calling.

I Believe Lyrics

Dailey & Vincent, Jimmy Fortune

When I see the sunrise in the mornin
When I feel the wind blow across my face
When I hear the sound of children playin
I know it’s all part of Gods’ amazing grace

and I believe, there’s a place called Heaven
and I believe, in a place called Calvary
I believe in a man who’s name is Jesus
and I believe, that he gave his life for me…

I was there the day my momma went to Heaven
I held her hand, as she closed her eyes to sleep
and I felt the power, of ten thousand angels
take her soul away, to be crowned at Jesus feet

and I believe, there’s a place called Heaven
and I believe, in a place called Calvary
I believe in a man who’s name is Jesus
and I believe, that he gave his life for me…
and I believe that he gave his life
for me

Go Rest High on That Mountain Lyrics

Song by Vince Gill

I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren’t afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain

Go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin’
Love for the Father and the Son

Oh, how we cried the day you left us
We gathered ’round your grave to grieve
Wish I could see the angels faces
When they hear your sweet voice sing

Go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin’
Love for the Father and the Son

Go rest high on that mountain
Son your work on earth is done
Go to heaven a-shoutin’
Love for the Father and the Son

Go to heaven a-shoutin’
Love for the Father and the Son

Precious Memories Lyrics

Precious memories, unseen angels
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger, ever near me
And the sacred past unfolds

Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness, of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold

As I travel on life’s pathway
Know not what the years may hold
As I ponder, hopes grow fonder
Precious memories flood my soul
Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness, of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold

Precious memories, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness, of the midnight
Precious sacred scenes unfold
Precious sacred scenes unfold

Sweet, Sweet Spirit Lyrics

Song by David Huff, Doris Akers, and The Statesmen Quartet

There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place,
cnd I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord;
There are sweet expressions on each face,
cnd I know they feel the presence of the Lord.

Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet heavenly Dove,
Stay right here with us, filling us with Your love.
cnd for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise;
Without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived,
When we shall leave this place.

How Great Thou Art Lyrics

Oh Lord, my God
When I, in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art

Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

There’s Power in the Blood Lyrics

Song by Marty Robbins

Would you be free from your burden of sin
There’s power in the blood
Power in the blood
Would you o’er evil a victory win
There’s wonderfull power in the blood

There is power power wonder working power
In the blood of the lamb
There is power power wonder working power
In the precious blood of lamb

Would you be whiter much wither than snow
There’s power in the blood
Power in the blood
Sin’s stains are lost and
It’s life giving flow
There’s one flicker power in the blood

There is power power wonder working power
In the blood of the lamb
There is power power wonder working power
In the precious blood of lamb

Would you do service for Jesus your king
There’s power in the blood
Power in the blood
Would you lift David his praises to sing
There’s wonderful power in the blood

There is power power wonder working power
In the blood of the lamb
There is power power wonder working power
In the precious blood of lamb

The Anchor Holds Lyrics

Song by Jimmy Swaggart

I have found
Yes, I have journeyed
Through this long, this long, dark night of life
Seeming sometimes that I was out on the open sea
By faith alone, sight unknown
And yet somehow I knew
His eyes were watching me

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I face this raging sea
The anchor holds
The anchor despite the storm

You know I’ve had visions
And I’ve had dreams
It seem like that sometimes
I can even hold them in my hands
But I never knew
That those dreams could slip right through
Like they were only
Tiny grains of sand

The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees, yes, I have
As I face this raging sea
The anchor holds
The anchor holds despite the storm

I have been young
And I’m older now, yes
There has even been some beauty
That these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
That I faced the storms, the storms of life
But that’s where God proved His love
Proved it to me, yes, He did

The anchor holds, yes, it does
The ship be battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I face those raging seas, oh, yes
Anchor holds
The anchor holds despite the storm

I have fallen on my knees
As I faced those raging seas
The anchor holds, yes, it does, yes, it does
Despite the storm

Thank God I have found
The anchor holds
The anchor holds
