The story of Corrie Ten Boom inspired Gospel musicians and couple Bill and Gloria Gaither to write “I Believe in a Hill Called Mt. Calvary.” Corrie Ten Boom is the sole survivor among her family members from the concentration camps during the World War II.  Having experienced the horrors of the war in Nazi Germany, Ten Boom’s story is that terrible. Despite such, her experiences became a powerful testimony of her faith in Christ and later resulted in a beautiful song. It is in Mt Calvary where Jesus did the ultimate sacrifice for us all! Praise His most holy Name!

Be blessed by this powerful rendition of the hymn, “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.” This song was written by Isaac Watts, and published in Hymns and Spiritual Songs in 1707. It is significant for being an innovative departure from the early English hymn style of only using paraphrased biblical texts, although the first couplet of the second verse paraphrases Galatians 6:14a and the second couplet of the fourth verse paraphrases Gal.6:14b. Glory to God!
