A beautiful rendition of the popular gospel song “Because He lives” led by Bill Gaither and Buddy Greene. The lyrics of this song were written by two of the longest-lasting performing couples of Christian contemporary music, Gloria Gaither (b. 1942) and William “Bill” J. Gaither (b. 1936) Gaither. “Because He Lives” was awarded the recognition of Gospel Song of the Year for 1974 by the Gospel Music Association and the American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP).

The Gaither Vocal Band was founded in the early ’80s by renowned Christian music leader Bill Gaither. GVB became one of America’s leading southern gospel vocal groups. While Bill Gaither remained the only original member of the ensemble, many well-regarded CCM/gospel singers have passed through the band’s ranks, including Russ Taff, Guy Penrod, Wes Hampton, Michael English, Mark Lowry, and David Phelps. About Ivan Parker

A North Carolina-born preacher’s kid, Ivan Parker is among the best-loved artists in gospel music. He traveled with the award-winning Gold City quartet, for more than a decade, before embarking on a solo career in 1994. During his years with Gold City, the group gained national notoriety, achieved 19 Top Ten hits, including a 1993 Dove Award for Southern Gospel Song of the Year by the Gospel Music Association.

Today, Ivan is an award-winning solo performer who was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 1993 and has received more than 20 awards from a variety of leading fan and trade publications. Gospel Country singing couple Jeff and Sheri Easter perform this classic hymn “The Sweet By-and-By” at the Tent Revival Gaither Homecoming concert at the Billy Graham Library in North Carolina. This Christian hymn was written by S. Fillmore Bennett and music by Joseph P. Webster.
