Bill & Gloria Gaither – “Rock of Ages” Featuring Vestal Goodman, The Martins

This is a very moving rendition of the classic hymn “Rock of Ages.” It features one of the greatest female gospel singers Vestal Goodman and the gospel group “The Martins.” What an amazing performance as they really sang it with deep conviction. Be blessed!

The Gaither Vocal Band was founded in the early ’80s by renowned Christian music leader Bill Gaither. GVB became one of America’s leading southern gospel vocal groups. While Bill Gaither remained the only original member of the ensemble, many well-regarded CCM/gospel singers have passed through the band’s ranks, including Russ Taff, Guy Penrod, Wes Hampton, Michael English, Mark Lowry, and David Phelps. Today, the Gaither Vocal Band roster is comprised of five power-packed voices, including Bill Gaither, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith.

Rock Of Ages

Vestal Goodman, The Martins

ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME
LET ME HIDE MYSELF IN THEE.
LET THE WATER AND THE BLOOD
FROM THY WOUNDED SIDE WHICH FLOWED.

II

CLOUD MY TEARS FOREVER FLOW
COULD MY ZEAL NO LANGUOR KNOW.
THESE FOR SIN COULD NOT ATONE
THOU MUST SAVE AND THOU ALONE.

III

WHILE I DRAW MY FLEETING BREATH
WHEN MINE EYES SHALL CLOSE IN DEATH.
WHEN I RISE TO WORLDS UNKNOWN
AND BEHOLD THEE ON THY THRONE.

CHORUS

BE OF SIN THE DOUBLE CURE
SAVE FROM WRATH AND MAKE ME PURE.
IN MY HAND NO PRICE I BRING SIMPLY TO THY CROSS I CLING
ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME LET ME HIDE MYSELF IN THEE.

Memorable Duet George Jones & Vestal Goodman – “Amazing Grace”

Watch this memorable duet of iconic country music singer, George Jones, and legendary gospel artist, Vestal Goodman! What a beautiful performance of the classic hymn “Amazing Grace!” These two artists definitely deserved a standing ovation and what a privelege to hear them sang together. Be blessed!

George Glenn Jones was born on September 12, 1931, in Saratoga, Texas. He has been called “The Rolls Royce Of Country Music” and had more than 160 chart singles to his name from 1955 until his death in 2013. Johnny Cash once said, “When people ask me who my favorite country singer is, I say, ‘You mean besides George Jones?’” He achieved international fame for his long list of hit records, including his best-known song “He Stopped Loving Her Today”, as well as his distinctive voice and phrasing. For the last two decades of his life, Jones was frequently referred to as the greatest living country singer. The shape of his nose and facial features earned Jones the nickname “The Possum.”

Amazing Grace Lyrics

John Newton, 1779
[Key: Eb]

Verse 1
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

Verse 2
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Verse 3
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

Verse 4
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Verse 5
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

Verse 6
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

Verse 7
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
