Jesus, the Light of the World Lyrics

Author: J. V. Coombs

1 All ye saints of light proclaim,
Jesus, the light of the world;
Life and mercy in His name,
Jesus, the light of the world.

Refrain:
We’ll walk in the light, beautiful light,
Come where the dew-drops of mercy are bright;
Shine all around us by day and by night,
Jesus, the light of the world.

2 Hear the Savior’s earnest call,
Jesus, the light of the world;
Send the Gospel truth to all,
Jesus, the light of the world.

[Refrain]

3 Why not seek Him then today,
Jesus, the light of the world;
Go with truth the narrow way,
Jesus, the light of the world.

[Refrain]

4 Come, confess Him as your king,
Jesus, the light of the world;
Then the bells of Heav’n will ring,
Jesus, the light of the world.

I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary – Gaither Vocal Band (Official Live)

The story of Corrie Ten Boom inspired Gospel musicians and couple Bill and Gloria Gaither to write “I Believe in a Hill Called Mt. Calvary.” Corrie Ten Boom is the sole survivor among her family members from the concentration camps during the World War II.  Having experienced the horrors of the war in Nazi Germany, Ten Boom’s story is that terrible. Despite such, her experiences became a powerful testimony of her faith in Christ and later resulted in a beautiful song. It is in Mt Calvary where Jesus did the ultimate sacrifice for us all! Praise His most holy Name!

I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary

Gaither Vocal Band

I believe in a hill called mount calvary
I believe whatever the cost
And when time has surrendered
And earth is no more
I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross

I believe that this life with its great mysteries
Surely someday will come to an end
But faith will conquer the darkness and death
And will lead at last to my friend

I believe that the Christ
Who was slain on the cross
Has the power to change lives today
For He changed me completely
A new life is mine
And that is why by the cross
I will stay

I believe in a hill called mount calvary
I believe whatever the cost
And when time has surrendered
And earth is no more
I’ll still cling to the old rugged cross

Love Like I’m Leavin’ Lyrics

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

I’m gonna love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today
I’m gonna listen like I mean it
Spend a little more time
Hold the ones I love longer
Slow down and unwind
Gonna smile at a stranger (Ooh ooh ooh)
Maybe make a new friend
Before the day is done
Gonna dance in the sun and soak it all in

I’m gonna love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
(Takes my breath away)
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today

Gonna mend a few fences go the extra mile
Oh, lend a hand where it’s needed
Sit down and talk for a while
Take a stroll on a Sunday
A long walk in the park
I’m not gonna miss one thing on the list
When it comes to the heart
I’m gonna love, love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
(Takes my breath away)
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving
Give more than I’m receiving
Laugh until it takes my breath away
(Takes my breath away)
I’m gonna say what needs saying
Pray what needs praying
I’m gonna love like I’m leaving today

Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary Lyrics

Days are filled with sorrow
Days are filled with sorrow and care
Hearts are lonely and drear
Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Jesus is very near

Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Calvary, Calvary
Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Jesus is very near

Troubled soul, the Savior can see
Every heartache and tear
Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Jesus is very near

Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Calvary, Calvary
Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Jesus is very near

Burdens are lifted at Calvary
Calvary, Calvary
Burdens are lifted at Calvary

Sweeter As The Days Go By (Southern Classics Vol. 2)

Song by Gaither Vocal Band

The more I trust Him, the more I love Him
Nothing good for me He’ll deny
The longer I know Him, the better I can show Him
I couldn’t stop now if I tried

It gets sweeter as the days go by
It gets sweeter as the moments fly
His love is richer, deeper, fuller, sweeter
Sweeter, sweeter, sweeter as the days go by

Oh, the moment He saved my His good grace He gave me
He place His love down deep in my heart
There’s great joy in knowing with Him I am going
And never more from Him to depart

It gets sweeter as the days go by
It gets sweeter as the moments fly
His love is richer, deeper, fuller, sweeter
Sweeter, sweeter, sweeter as the days go by

It gets sweeter as the days go by
It gets sweeter as the moments fly
His love is richer, deeper, fuller, sweeter
Sweeter, sweeter, sweeter as the days go by

Alan Jackson Classic Hymn: “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”

This is a soulful rendition of the classic hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” by Country music superstar, Alan Jackson. This Christian hymn originally written by preacher Joseph M. Scriven as a poem in 1855 to comfort his mother, who was living in Ireland while he was in Canada. The tune to the hymn was composed by Charles Crozat Converse in 1868.

About Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson was born in the small town of Newnan, Georgia, on October 17, 1958. He grew up singing gospel music, both in church and at home with his family, and as a teenager he performed locally as part of a country duo. He left school to work and married his high-school sweetheart, Denise, who worked as an airline stewardess. In 1989, Jackson became the first artist signed to Arista’s new country division. Jackson’s debut album, Here in the Real World, was issued in 1990 and became a platinum-selling hit on the strength of four Top Five hits: the title cut, “Chasin’ That Neon Rainbow,” “Wanted,” and the first of many chart-toppers, “I’d Love You All Over Again.” He shot to full-fledged superstardom with the follow-up, 1991’s Don’t Rock the Jukebox, whose title track was an inescapable number one smash that year.

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

Song by Alan Jackson

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit
O what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

We’ll Soon Be Done With Troubles And Trials

Song by Bill & Gloria Gaither

Some of these days I’m going home
Where no sorrows ever come,
We’ll soon be done with troubles and trials;
Safe from Heartaches, pain and care,
We shall all that glory share,
And I’m gonna sit down beside my Jesus,
Sit down and rest a little while.

Refrain:
We’ll soon be done with troubles and trials,
Yes, in that home on the other side,
And I’m gonna shake glad hands with the elders,
Tell my kindred good morning,
Then I’m gonna sit down beside my Jesus,
Gonna sit down and rest a li’l while.

Kindred and friends now wait for me,
Soon their faces I shall see,
We’ll soon be done with troubles and trials;
‘Tis a home of Life so fair
And we’ll all be gathered there,
And I’m gonna’ sit down beside my Jesus,
Sit down and rest a little while.

I shall behold his blessed face,
I shall feel his matchless grace,
We’ll soon be done with troubles and trials;
O what peace and joy sublime
In that home of love divine,
And I’m gonna’ sit down beside my Jesus,
Sit down and rest a little while.

Since Jesus Came Into My Heart Lyrics

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought
Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wandering and going astray,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins, which were many, are all washed away,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

I shall go there to dwell in that City, I know,
Since Jesus came into my heart!
And I’m happy, so happy, as onward I go,
Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

Floods of joy o’er my soul
Like the sea billows roll,
Since Jesus came into my heart.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

By Alan Jackson

O soul are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free

Turn you eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there
Over us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conquerors we are

And turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

His word shall not fail you, He promised
Believe Him and all will be well
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell

And turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Majesty, worship His Majesty:

Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
