It Is Finished Lyrics

There’s a line that is drawn through the ages
On that line stands an old rugged cross
On that cross, a battle is raging
Or the gain a man’s soul or it’s loss

On one side, march the forces of evil
All the demons, and all the devils of hell
On the other, the angels of glory
And they meet on Golgotha’s hill

The earth shakes with the force of the conflict
And the sun refuses to shine
There hangs God’s son, in the balance
And then through the darkness he cries

It is finished, the battle is over
It is finished, there’ll be no more war
It is finished, the end of the conflict
It is finished and Jesus is Lord

Yet in my heart, the battle was raging
Not all prisoners of war had come home
These were battlefields of my own making
I didn’t know that the war had been won

Then I heard the king of the ages
Had fought all the battles for me
And that victory was mine for the claiming
And now praise his name, I am free

It is finished, the battle is over
It is finished, there’ll be no more war
It is finished, the end of the conflict
It is finished and, Jesus is Lord

Just a Closer Walk with Thee Lyrics

  1. I am weak, but Thou art strong;
    Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
    I’ll be satisfied as long
    As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
    • Refrain:
      Just a closer walk with Thee,
      Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
      Daily walking close to Thee,
      Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
  2. Through this world of toil and snares,
    If I falter, Lord, who cares?
    Who with me my burden shares?
    None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
  3. When my feeble life is o’er,
    Time for me will be no more;
    Guide me gently, safely o’er
    To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.

Goodbye World Goodbye – Lyrics

I told all my troubles goodbye. Goodbye to each tear and each sigh.
This world where I roam cannot be my home; I’m bound for that land in the sky.
I walk and I talk with my Lord. I feast every day on His Word.
Heaven is near and I can’t stay here; Goodbye, world, goodbye

Now don’t you weep for me when I’m gone,
’cause I won’t have to leave here alone.
And when I hear that last trumpet sound,
my feet won’t stay on the ground.
I’m gonna rise with a shout, gonna fly;
I’m gonna ride with my Lord through the sky.
Heaven is near and I can’t stay here;
Goodbye, world, goodbye

I won’t have the blues anymore when I step across to that shore
And I’ll never pine for I’ll leave behind my heartaches and tears evermore
A day, maybe two, then goodbye; tomorrow, I’ll rise up and fly.
Heaven is near and I can’t stay here; goodbye, world, goodbye

Only Trust Him

John H. Stockton

  1. Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
    There’s mercy with the Lord,
    And He will surely give you rest
    By trusting in His Word.
    • Refrain:
      Only trust Him, only trust Him,
      Only trust Him now;
      He will save you, He will save you,
      He will save you now.
  2. For Jesus shed His precious blood
    Rich blessings to bestow;
    Plunge now into the crimson flood
    That washes white as snow.
  3. Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
    That leads you into rest;
    Believe in Him without delay
    And you are fully blest.
  4. Come, then, and join this holy band,
    And on to glory go,
    To dwell in that celestial land
    Where joys immortal flow.

The End of the Beginning Lyrics

David Phelps

I was takin’ a trip on a plane the other day
Just wishing that I could get out.
When the man next to me saw the book in my hand
And asked me what it was about.
So I settled back in my seat-
“A best seller, ” I said.
“A history, a mystery in one.”
And then I opened up the book and began to read
From Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

He was born of a virgin one holy night
In the little town of Bethlehem.
Angels gathered round him underneath the stars
Singing praises to the great I Am.

He walked on the water, healed the lame and made the blind to see again.
And for the first time here on earth we learned that God could be a friend.
And though he never ever did a single thing wrong
The angry crowd chose him. And then he walked down the road
And died on the cross and that was the end of the beginning.

“That’s not a new book that’s a bible, ” he said, “and I’ve heard it all before.
I’ve tried religion- its shame and guilt and I don’t need it anymore.
It’s superstition, made up tales and just to help the weak to survive.”
“Let me read it again, ” I said, “listen closely, ’cause this is gonna change your life.

“The end of the beginning, ” he said with a smile.
“What more could there be? He’s dead.
You said they hung him, put nails in His hands
And a crown of thorns on His head.”
I said, “I’ll read it again but this time there’s more,
And I believe that this is true.
His death wasn’t the end, the beginning of life
That’s completed in you.
Don’t you see he did all this for you!

“He was born of a virgin one holy night
In the little town of Bethlehem
All the angles singing praises to the great I am
He walked on the water, healed the lame,
And made the blind to see
(And for the first time here on earth)

Did you know that God could be a friend.
Tho He never ever did a single thing wrong,
He was the one the crowd chose.
Then he walked and he died but
Three days later
Th ree days later
Three days later
He rose!Three days later he rose!
You see he came, he lived, and he died.
But that was the end of the beginning.
