He Must Had Had a Mountain On His Mind
Ivan Parker
He said let’s go up the mountain. I’ve got a few things I would like to say
So they followed close behind Him and stayed there ’til the sunset of the day
His words were strong and gentle like the aspens as they whisper in the wind
and His promises were welcome as the whippoorwill who finds her nest again
Oh and He taught there on the mountain and the boulders heard His words
They would have shouted praise Him if the crowd had not been first
He said blessed are the peaceful. They are the sons of God
Blessed are the righteous for with Him there is a bond
Blessed are the poor and meek. Blessed are the ones who seek to find
And as He walked into the valley He must have had a mountain on His mind
He gave them all instructions, lessons that would help them on the ride
He talked of all His passions and hoped that they’d remember when he died
He said learn to love your brother. He even said to love your enemy
He said walk the second mile, pray forgive us Lord and set us free
Then He left them on the hillside and He went to Calvary
He thought about a mountain where He’d fed His precious sheep
He said blessed are the peaceful. They are the sons of God
Blessed are the righteous for with Him there is a bond
Blessed are the poor and meek. Blessed are the ones who seek to find
And as He stepped into Heaven He must have had a mountain on His mind
