What a beautiful version of this classic hymn “Love Lifted Me” by top country artist Randy Travis! His voice is really captivating and he sang it with deep conviction. Travis performed this song at Calvary Assembly Of God, Orlando, Florida sometime in 2003. Be blessed!
About Randy Travis
Randy Travis, was born Randy Traywick, May 4, 1959, in Marshville, North Carolina. Randy began playing guitar at the age of eight, and within two years, he and his brother Ricky formed a duo called the Traywick Brothers. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 28 and was the first country artist ever to have a debut album sell over one million copies. He was a multiple winner at the Academy of Country Music Awards, the Country Music Association Awards, the Grammy Awards, the American Music Awards, and the Dove Awards. Travis established his trademark style on his first three albums (1986’s Storms of Life, 1987’s Always and Forever, and 1988’s Old 8×10), which were among his most popular and celebrated. In the 2000s, many of his best albums were gospel-oriented efforts such as 2002’s Rise and Shine and 2003’s Worship and Faith, where his voice meshed well with classic hymns and songs of praise.
Love Lifted Me Lyrics
I was sinkin’ deep in sin
Far from the peaceful shore
Very deeply stained within
Sinking to rise no more.
But the master of the sea
Heard my despairing cry
And from the waters lifted me
Now safe am I.
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me.
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me.
All my heart to him I give
Ever to him I’ll cling
In his blessed presence live
Ever his praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul’s best song
Faithful, loving service too
To him belongs
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me.
When nothing else could help
Love lifted me.
Love lifted me…
