Church in the Wildwood Lyrics

Words & Music: William S. Pitts

There’s a church in the valley by the wildwood,
No lovelier spot in the dale;
No place is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

Refrain

Come to the church in the wildwood,
Oh, come to the church in the dale,
No spot is so dear to my childhood,
As the little brown church in the vale.

How sweet on a clear, Sabbath morning,
To list to the clear ringing bell;
Its tones so sweetly are calling,
Oh, come to the church in the vale.

Refrain

There, close by the church in the valley,
Lies one that I loved so well;
She sleeps, sweetly sleeps, ’neath the willow,
Disturb not her rest in the vale.

Refrain

There, close by the side of that loved one,
To trees where the wild flowers bloom,
When the farewell hymn shall be chanted
I shall rest by her side in the tomb.

Refrain

From the church in the valley by the wildwood,
When day fades away into night,
I would fain from this spot of my childhood
Wing my way to the mansions of light.

A Place on Calvary Lyrics

Song by The Statler Brothers

Lower my body
And lift my Soul
And tell me to come on home
Let me leave this world of Sin
‘Cause heaven is were I want to roam

I’ll bow my head
Raise my hands
Get down on my knees
I just beg and pray that I someday
Will have a place on Calvary

Now we’ve all been blessed by the grace of God
And his spirit within us lives
But still we ask for other things
And still our God forgives
But Lord, there’s just a one more thing
A personal favor for me
I just want to suggest
To make a Request
For a Place on Calvary

Lower my body
And lift my Soul
And tell me to come on home
Let me leave this world of Sin
‘Cause heaven is were I want to roam

I’ll bow my head
Raise my hands
Get down on my knees
I just beg and pray that I someday
Will have a place on Calvary

Now the good book tells us how it was
More than many years ago
And I’ve read every word
In black and red
But still I have to know
If all my deeds on earth won’t mesure up
Will my soul still be set free?
Ah, If I deserve though I don’t deserve

Lower my body
And lift my Soul
And tell me to come on home
Let me leave this world of Sin
‘Cause heaven is were I want to roam

I’ll bow my head
Raise my hands
Get down on my knees
I just beg and pray that I someday
Will have a place on Calvary

I just beg and Pray that I someday
Will have a place on Calvary
Calvary
Calvary
Calvary
Calvary
Calvary

Amazing Grace Lyrics

Song by The Statler Brothers

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

It was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace my fears relieved
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
It is Grace that brought me safe thus far
And Grace will lead me home

When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see

I once was lost but now I’m found
Was blind but now I see
